Along with a Friend, we created a club at Culver that combines my love of athletic training and nutrition along with my propensity towards leadership. We are acting as an extension for the Culver Athletic Trainer and teaching other students how to be comfortable working out with the equipment available.
For Me It Started before I remember. I have seen the pictures of my hair, but I actually do not remember a time when I had hair. As the story goes, my first spot happened before my first birthday. After the local doctors had their suspicions my parents eventually took me to University of Minnesota to Dr. Maria Hordinsky for my official diagnosis of Alopecia Areata. I had one shed/growth/shed before my parents shaved my head bald before my Third Birthday… and other than a few fuzzes here or there, it has never grown back. I am here today, trying to show other kids/teens that life can move forward in positive ways even though we may look different than most people in our circles. My name is Brogan Borst and I will graduate Culver Military Academy June 2025, and I am looking to help others while I help myself in this journey of dealing with alopecia. www.BaldBigBrother.com

Brogan has been a strong contributor to the class all year, which we all appreciate very much! He brought both a sharp intelligence and quick wit to our discussions, especially when there was a debate. It was especially impressive to see Brogan develop his thinking and writing over the year. As he has deepened his knowledge, he has also developed the sophistication and complexity of his thinking. Even more he has brought in lively writing to timed essays that suggests that Brogan has considerable potential to become a serious persuasive, creative and vivid writer.
PHD Master Instructor
I have really enjoyed Brogan being a part of the Applications of Engineering 1 class. He has been thoroughly engaged in hands-on activities, including designing and building a precision-altitude flying rocket and an energy efficient wind turbine. He has done an excellent job at completing his engineering portfolio with high quality and has done an excellent job on his content assessments. He does a good job of keeping a well-organized Engineering Notebook and does an excellent job of using his time in class appropriately in working with his teammate.
Senior Instructor, Mechanical Engineer
Brogan is a fun young man that brings an energy to everything he does and can be a very influential aspect of the unit.
Unit Counselor
Brogan is a good student who contributes positively to the group dynamic of the class. With independent work, Brogan produces a consistently good quality of video, both in terms of shooting and editing. Brogan is also very collaborative in group settings. He puts forth effort, and brings up the quality of work that the group produces.
Instructor
Brogan has been a strong student from day 1 but he has continued to improve throughout the course. He is very bright and he isn't shy about attempting the most challenging of problems that we see in this class. He does a great job working with his partners on the projects that we do and he communicates well and works in a way that brings the entire group along.
Senior Instructor
Brogan has really step up in class, volunteering in many discussions and always willing to share his point of view. Though he is the youngest person in this class he has done very well leading his table and explaining concepts covered in class. I hope Brogan keeps up the good work and continues to stay comfortable in class. He poised to do well in this class, and I hope it helps him decide if entrepreneurship is in his future.
Instructor, Coach
I really enjoy having Brogan in class. He is respectful, funny and well-liked by his classmates. He displays good understanding in a myriad of ways – homework, quizzes, during sample problems, group work, and class discussions.
Senior Instructor
Brogan is a very bright Latin student who demonstrates the ability to understand concepts fairly quickly. He has asked more pointed questions as the grammar has increased and still approaches those situations with inquisitiveness like he did in the beginning of the semester. Brogan is always listening when we’re having large group discussions because he’ll then look up something on his computer as a way to find more information or an image that, perhaps, makes the topic more engaging to him... I have been very impressed with Brogan’s IPAs this grading period. He is very astute in his observations when comparing cultures on the Interpretive Reading task and then his Latin writing sample for his Presentational Writing is usually both creative and demonstrative of concrete cultural knowledge.
Senior Instructor
Eagle Pride Note for Brogan Borst. Brogan scored the highest score in the class on Test 1 in AP Statistics. His efforts today mirror his excellent student learning process (homework effort and classroom engagement). Great work!

It is a pleasure to teach Brogan again this year. I enjoyed watching his maturity from freshman year in Advanced Pre-Calculus, through sophomore year in AP Calculus BC, and now senior year in AP Stats. I am glad for both his maturity, focus and effort (which have all grown), and I am thankful that he has retained his boyish charm, quick smile, charisma, and ability to work well with others. He is doing very well in the course so far. He has earned an A on all three tests so far. He works diligently in his group daily. If he continues to stay focused, he should do very well in this class.

Brogan is an excellent student. Always working on excellence, he is a very positive part of biology. A leader in the class, Brogan asks good questions and listens as his group discusses complex topics. He is insightful and uses his good lab skills to collect accurate data. Brogan is a lab partner that everyone appreciates.
